Last night, BET (Black Entertainment Television) held an awards show awarding black women and girls who have made a difference. They’re women who have been awarded for their singing or a young girl for her book drive to collect books about black girls.

Their speeches were inspiring and heartfelt. To tell young black girls and black women to never be ashamed of their skin color, hair, and bodies. Women performed songs that touch the soul to inspire black girls. Andra Bay sang her heartwarming and amazing song Rise Up —  Rise Up against domestic violence, sexual harassment, and to rise up as a black girl.

Many women who were awarded gave inspiring speeches, urging the audience to love themselves and love being black, to embrace your color and culture, and to remember that #BlackLivesMatter.
