The Eagles started the season with a win against Siloam Springs.

On Friday, Oct. 21, Heritage varsity football hosts Bentonville West for Homecoming.

The game starts at 7 p.m. after a day of festivities including a pep rally and parade.

The HHS Eagles football team has gotten better and increased wins over past seasons. This progress is noticed by teachers and coaches across campus.

“Our football team is in for a tough game against Bentonville,” said Rodney Bowen, who teaches Econ and coaches softball. “But our boys this year have turned over a new leaf, they’ve seen success, and they’ve had success.”

Heritage’s varsity football team has practiced hard to be prepared for their Friday night’s game.

“I am ready, and I think our whole team is ready,” said Taylor Covington (10). “It’s going to be a great game.”

It is important for the football team to remain prepared, but the spirit teams say that the student section plays a huge role in helping the players feel supported.

“Show up to the game,” said varsity dancer Kindall Voelkel (12). “The student section has definitely gotten better this year, but it is nowhere near where it needs to be.”

Students need to fill up the stands to support Heritage on Friday, because the next week the War Eagles will be on the road at Fayetteville.
