Marvel in its past years has made movies that left lasting impressions on viewers and fans around the world are excited for what new projects are on the way.
With installments to the franchise like “Avengers Infinity War”, “Endgame” and many more, you couldn’t go to a movie theater and not see a new Marvel movie. Then with streaming services, the Marvel franchise grew exponentially with shows like “Loki”, “She Hulk” and “Moon Knight”. As of recent times Marvel has unveiled a timeline of the movies that will come out with some as soon as this summer. These movies have lots of hype and excitement coming with it. Some of them include “Spider-man:Brand New Day” coming July 31, “Avengers Doomsday” coming Dec 18, and “Avengers Secret Wars” Dec 17, 2027. Both Avengers titles are key installments to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a continuation of “Infinity War” and “Endgame”. “Secret Wars” in particular has gained a lot of interest as it will lead to a reboot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe making the timeline more singular.
A controversy that is coming along with the release of “Avengers Doomsday” is the role of Robert Downey Jr. playing the main villain Victor Von Doom after playing the role of Tony Stark and Iron Man.
“Robert Downey Jr is not a good choice for Doctor Doom,” said Issac Mora (10).
Some issues that could appear in the movie is that Marvel seems to be ignoring the fact that Doom would look exactly like his former character. Either Marvel is going to have to change his iconic look or they need to find another high-profile actor.
“I think Disney should not have [gone] quantity over quality at all,” said Alex Garcia (10).
Marvel seemed to be giving fans a lot of projects with majority bombing in the box office or audience ratings being very low like in “She-Hulk”, “Thor Love and Thunder”, and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania”. Some productions that Heritage students and the general public liked were “Loki” and “Daredevil”.
“I believe doomsday will be really good,” said William Fernicola (10).
It seems that students here feel that the new movies will live up to the hype that has been building up for the past 6 years.
