A Night in Latin America: LULAC Dance

Monica Sanchez, Writer

On Friday, February 17th Rogers Heritage High School will be hosting a LULAC dance: A Night in Latin America. It is open to all high schools in the area.

LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States. LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 1,000 LULAC councils nationwide.

Times are rough right now and there is more division than ever. The LULAC club is trying to promote diversity and learning about other cultures.

The dance will take place at the commons from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm. Tickets are being sold in the commons during both lunches. Each ticket costs $5 if you buy it before the dance. Tickets will be $10 each if they are bought on the night of the dance. Guest passes for RHS will be provided for free.

Everyone is welcome to come enjoy a fun night of dancing, aguas frescas, and chips and salsa. The funds for the dance will go towards the LULAC club and scholarships within the club.
