On Monday the Heritage varsity tennis team faced off with Southside High School from Fort Smith.

The boys team won their matches 8-1 but the girls team had lost 2-7.

“All of them played well,” Coach Taylor Tinsley said. “The boys won 8-1, and the girls played great.”

During the tennis match, the players were working hard in the heat, and the coaches were telling them how great they were doing.

“I think I did good with my matches, I’d tried my best and had good matches with my opponents,” said Stella De Vera (10).

“I think I did pretty well. I did my backhand shots good,” Parks Lastovica (11) said.

Next Monday, Sept. 20, the varsity tennis team will play against the Fayetteville Bulldogs for their final home match of the season.
