Scholarships Available for HHS Students

Applying for college can be very stressful. When considering where you want to apply and the cost of going to different colleges and universities, it can all become very overwhelming. To help relieve some of the stress, Rogers Heritage High School offers a wide variety of scholarships for students.
Community Scholarship Application
The community scholarship application will open Feb. 1, 2021, along with a list of all the community scholarships and their qualifications and required documents. Students will complete the application online and attach their transcript, ACT, and any other required documents. There is one deadline for all scholarships: March 12, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. A scholarship checklist and parent statement and signature must be turned in to Mrs. Whitson by the deadline as well. Only seniors who complete the application and turn in the checklist and parent page will be eligible to apply for community scholarships this year.
What can you put on the community application?
~Up to 5 school-related extracurricular activities
~Up to 10 awards and honors
~Up to 5 community service activities – including total time volunteered
~3 references
~Essay
Buck Pride of Heritage Scholarship
The buck pride scholarship is our most competitive community scholarship. The application is open now and the deadline is Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.5
- ACT score of 25-30
- Minimum of 3 school-sponsored clubs or organizations each year of high school
- At least one titled leadership position Senior year (team captain, club officer, etc.)
- Plans to go to a 4-year college
- Must demonstrate outstanding school and community involvement
- Creative project (preferred to be digital)
Finalists will be interviewed in November.
Arkansas Challenge Scholarship (Lottery Scholarship)
YOUniversal scholarship application is open now and must be submitted by Aug. 1, 2021.
Qualifications:
- YOUniversal application submitted
- ACT score of 19 (or ACT equivalent) – Superscore accepted
- FAFSA submitted
- Must attend an Arkansas college
Arkansas Futures Grant
This grant covers full tuition and fees for certain 2-year programs in the STEM field. You can find a list of all the programs this grant covers on the HHS Scholarship website.
Qualifications:
- YOUniversal application submitted
- FAFSA submitted
- Must attend an Arkansas college
DEADLINE IS July 1, 2021
Arkansas Governor’s Distinguished
This is the biggest and most competitive scholarship. It covers up to $10,000 per year in tuition, fees, room, and board. This scholarship is open now and must be submitted before March 1, 2021.
Qualifications:
- YOUniversal application must be submitted
- ACT score of 32 or SAT score of 1410
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- Must attend an Arkansas college

Students on free/reduced lunch may receive up to 4 vouchers for free tests in the counseling office.

The December test is the last score that most big-name colleges will accept!

FAFSA
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened Oct. 1. This is the application you will use to qualify for grants, loans, and work-study based on parent and student 2019 tax information. HHS has FAFSA workshops every fall to help with this process, most likely virtual this year.
