HHS Offers Clubs for All Students

Clubs offer many opportunities for students to learn and find new hobbies at Heritage High School, and you can join before the end of October.

DECA is an organization that helps students prepare for the business world, focusing on finance, hospitality, marketing, entrepreneurship, and management. It teaches students how to communicate and have time management skills, two important things in the business industry. DECA also helps with self-promo skills, creates writing skills, and educates the students about the power social media has. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America.

FFA is an organization for students interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of three agricultural education components. FFA helps students prepare for careers such as science, marketing, education, communications, production, forestry, natural resources, and other fields. This organization helps students develop life and leadership skills that will help shape their decision making and values for the rest of their lives. FFA means Future Farmers of America

TSA stands for The Technology Students Association, and it is a non-profit career and technical student organization. It was created to help students develop skills in science technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as business education. 

HOSA means Health Occupations Students of America. HOSA’s mission is to help students become leaders in the health community through education, experience, and collaboration. Members in HOSA develop leadership skills and qualities, they build self-confidence, strengthen their academic and technical skills, set realistic career and educational goals, create friendships, and interact in community services.

FCCLA is a club for students in Family and Consumer Science.  It stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA helps students develop a personal leadership style, prepares them for living as responsible citizens, teaches them employability skills, and helps students focus on many youth concerns such as parenting, family relationships, peer pressure, abuse, teen violence, fitness, and career preparation in certain career pathways. FCCLA is a very unique club because it focuses mainly on family, and it is planned by members of the club.

Skills Communication is a club that helps students with their communication skills such as being able to carry information to people with simplicity and clarification, listening, confidence, respectfulness, giving, or receiving feedback, and being able to interact with others.

Skills Construction is a club where students learn about construction skills. Students learn how to sketch, drill, do floor installations, electrical tasks, and build different types of things.

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA helps students prepare for careers in business through competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. This club does many things that help students such as networking, marketing, graphic design, coding, public speaking, conferences, and community services. The deadline to join FBLA is October 21st. 

Skills Auto is a club that helps students learn more about mechanics, fixing tires, changing the oil, and other basic things to help you fix your car, it also helps students with problem-solving skills, work ethic, experience, resourcefulness, and knowledge about autos. This club is helpful to students who might want to be automotive engineers.
