Nothing is better than watching your favorite NBA All-Star players on national TV. Fergie’s rendition of the National Anthem was probably the worst performance America will ever see. Let’s talk about the performance Fergie was asked to enact in front of millions of viewers at the stadium and those at home. We all have something unique in us that we want everyone to see and would like to express but this was something Fergie should work on, singing.  Fergie has had a career full of successful songs, including her time being a member of the Black Eyed Peas. She has worked with famous singers such as Ludacris, Dj Khaled, P. Diddy and Meghan Trainor. All these artists, yet she couldn’t simply give the audience a “wow, what a great performance.” Instead she gave a haunting, terrifying, and tragic presentation. Many people gave their opinions on how much of a shame it was to watch this go live on TV, even the basketball players had puzzled looks on their face as they tried contain their giggles.

In response to her performance, Fergie had a couple words to say on Monday to TMZ, “I’ve always been honored, and proud to perform the national anthem, and last night I wanted to try something special for the the NBA, I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone.” She then said after she “tried her best.” Many students at Heritage High School had comments to say about this outrageous performance from Fergie. Karla Aguinaga said, “She can sing good, but do I like this representation she did that night? Oh yes.” There you have it, some agreed to liking this from Fergie.  Then, there is senior student, “It made me cringe but I feel bad for her,” said Julissa Hurtado. Ouch! No doubt Fergie’s singing talent is incredible but in this event, it’s a no go. Thank you Fergie for stealing this show!
