Ceiling Tile Fundraiser Raises Money for Art

Come paint the school to help raise money!

Room B135 is opened Nakia Brener’s annual fundraiser to paint ceiling tiles. All proceeds go to helping students who wish to pursue art in the future. All students are welcome to join in.

It is $20 per square tile, $40 for a full tile. The deadline is May 1, the last month of school. You can also be sponsored by a teacher to paint a tile for their classroom!

The process is quite simple. Design an appropriate idea on paper, have it approved by Brener (and the sponsoring teacher, if necessary), and come in during Eagle Period (RTI) or A Lunch to work on it.

To partake in Eagle Period, email Brener and tell her you want to paint a tile for the fundraiser. Your tile will become a piece of the school forever, and allow future generations to see your legacy in the school’s history.

Students enjoy participating in the fundraiser for various reasons. Some appreciate showcasing their artwork.

“I like having a piece of my art in a classroom,” junior Natalee McCarty said.

“It is definitely time-consuming, but I enjoyed it and I love seeing my art in someone’s room and seeing people enjoy my art,” senior Camden Lewallen said.

Other students are motivated by the heart behind the fundraiser.

“It’s definitely worth the money for art scholarships,” junior Wendy Garcia said.
