Trump Wins Election
The results are in. There’s no doubt you’ve heard it already. The electoral college has spoken (despite Clinton winning the popular vote), and the next president will be Donald Trump.
Popular because of his straightforward, blunt rhetoric, Trump created a slogan, “Make America Great Again”, that resonated with working class citizens. He pushes assertive policies that aim to strengthen our country, especially financially and militarily. To the average American in search of a sense of security, this was a huge appeal in his campaign.
Trump’s past lies in entrepreneurship. He’s a famous businessman; from Trump Towers, to Casino, to the Apprentice, he’s extremely well-known. He’s been an on-again off-again Republican, and backed by this party, he began to run in June of 2015. Despite having absolutely no political or military experience, he quickly gained momentum and won the primaries for his party.
It was a close struggle against Clinton. All polls before the actual election projected her as the winner; in the end, Clinton received the popular vote. The electoral college, however, made Trump the winner.
