Tensions Between North Korea and the United States
April 14, 2017
Tensions are rising between the United States and North Korea.
In recent time North Korea has responded to U.S. hostility by declaring that they are prepared for war. If the United States demonstrates any reckless military action against North Korea, they will respond with a preemptive strike.
North Korean Vice Minister Han Song Ryol stated that Donald Trump’s administration has proven to be “more vicious and more aggressive” than his predecessor’s. He said that his country will continue to build the “quality and quantity” of its nuclear arsenal; North Korea is ready to respond to any action for the U.S.
Han Song Ryol also mentioned, “We’ve got a powerful nuclear deterrent already in our hands, and we certainly will not keep our arms crossed in the face of a U.S. pre-emptive strike. Whatever comes from the U.S., we will cope with it. We are fully prepared to handle it.”
Han also addressed the recent tweets that President Trump has posted, saying that they only serve to most likely make matters worse and further inflame the conflict. “Trump is always making provocations with his aggressive words,” Han said. “It’s not the DPRK but the U.S. and Trump that makes trouble.”
In one of those tweets, Trump declared, “I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem! North Korea is looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! U.S.A.”
Time will tell what occurs between these two countries.
