Ranting about American Horror Story: Hotel

Y’know what? Prepare yourself, take a seat, grab a snack because this is going to be a wild ride. First and foremost, I love American Horror Story. It’s something I look forward to every Wednesday. I’ve seen all the episodes and I, in case it means anything, was number one in Arkansas consecutively for multiple months on Quiz-Up for American Horror Story back in the day. I mean, I’m writing this all snooty like not because I’m that proud of it, but because I want to establish my dedication and knowledge of the show. But I hate Hotel; Hotel is garbage. Every series has a season that is just not good. I enjoy the pathetic gore and I would even say the plot is amusing, but it just isn’t very good in this season.

Okay on the real, some of the characters have good development. They have an actual basic story line. But there is a lot of extra stuff that happens that really isn’t relevant to anything else in the episode. That adds confusion to an already dramatic story. It was like there were multiple story lines with different characters and they hardly related to each other. Plus the murder and drugs and sex, although I expect nothing less from American Horror Story, was a bit much in Hotel. Also, this season had some predictable twists. I’m confused about why some of the things needed to happen.

Overall, Hotel was entertaining. I still enjoy it because it’s part of the series, and it’s not all terrible. But it’s still the worst American Horror Story season the exists at this point in time. Freak Show is arguably as terrible as Hotel, but at least Freak Show is spooky and has freakin’ Jessica Lange. Also, it’s better because Freak Shows used to actually exist, but haunted hotels are less spooky because many people don’t believe in ghosts. So, yeah. Hotel sucks the most.
