NBA All-Star Game

The 2016 NBA All-Star Game took place on February 14th. Didn’t have a Valentine’s Day date? Like me, the All-Star game could’ve been your plus one to a good game of basketball, and a Valentine’s day treat. It was also Kobe Bryant’s last all-star game. The game took place in Toronto, Canada.

The players were divided into two team: East (eastern conference NBA all-stars) and West (western conference NBA all-stars).

The Eastern conference players were: Lebron James (Cavaliers), Paul George (Pacers), Carmelo Anthony (Knicks), Dwayne Wade (Heat), Kyle Lowry (Raptors), Jimmy Butler (Bulls), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Paul Millsap (Hawks), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Chris Bosh (Heat), John Wall (Wizards), Isaiah Thomas (Celtics), Pau Gasol (Bulls), and All Horford (Hawks). The head coach was Tyronn Lue (coaches the Cavaliers).

The Western conference players were: Kobe Bryant (Lakers, personal favorite), Kevin Durant (Thunder), Kawhi Leonard (Spurs), Stephen Curry (Warriors, another favorite), Russell Westbrook (Thunder), Draymond Green (Warriors), James Harden (Rockets), Chris Paul (Clippers), Klay Thompson (Warriors), Anthony Davis (Pelicans), Demarcus Cousins (Kings), and LaMarcus Aldridge (Spurs). The head coach was Gregg Popovich (coaches the Spurs).

The game started with amazing dunks from both teams and ended with deep threes. The West had a twenty-three point, game winning score against the East, 196-173. Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma city Thunder won MVP. He scored 31 points total for the West team.

It was also All-Star weekend. All-Star weekend included the Celebrity All-Star Game, Three-Point shooting contest, and the Slam Dunk contest. All of these contests were amazing and worthy to watch. If you have spare time, I recommend you watch any of these events.
