Motivation for the second semester
January 1, 2017
2016 is over; 2017 is here. The turn of a new year is so hopeful. People ponder what the upcoming year will hold. It is the one time of the year where thinking about the future isn’t scary but is instead exciting. We remember what has happened in the past year. It is generally true that the new year is a good time.
The one problem with the new year is that it happens to fall in the middle of the school year. This is a time when students typically experience a slump in motivation. The new semester is a fresh start for grades and attendance. Fret not, because I have gathered some quotes to help inspire new motivation into students.
“Quality is not an act, it is a habit.”-Aristotle
“Don’t watch the clock, do what it does. Keep going.”-Sam Levenson
“Accept the challenges so you can feel the exhilaration of victory.”-George S. Patton
“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you pales in comparison of what lies inside of you”-Ralph Waldo Emerson
“We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers- but never blame yourself, it’s never your fault. But it’s always your fault because if you wanted change you’re the one that has got to change.”-Katherine Hepburn
So go out there and work hard to pull the motivation out of you to finish this school year on good terms despite being tired. After all, this is the last semester for seniors.
