Minecraft will be back in Schools
The insanely popular game Minecraft could be making an educational return to our schools!
September 19, 2016
You’ve probably heard of Minecraft. The famous creative simulator has entertained kids and adults for years now. Well, great news! Microsoft has announced an educational version of the same game for schools. It will offer free trials, educational modifications, and much more. The game has been noted for being used traditionally in some schools for many learning purposes, such as math, history, geography, and especially coding.
The coding particularly comes into play when working with what people refer to as mods (modifications), which are tweaks and redesigns of various game attributes and mechanics. Mods can add new inventory items, weapons, make things look different, and more. These are one of the main things Microsoft plans to focus on. Other things include new building, math, and geographical mechanics.
This is a fascinating endeavor for Microsoft, and we can’t wait to hear more of what they have planned for the future!
