Michael Cera is one actor that, despite a successful career, has a crippling image. He is forever tied to roles portraying socially awkward people. Or maybe he is naturally so awkward that all of is roles turn into the “socially awkward friend”. Either way, I have a fond awareness and appreciation for Michael Cera and his undeniable ability to make anything slightly uncomfortable. Here are a few of my favorite photos of good ole Mike doing what he does best.

The most awkward plant to hold would probably be a cactus so this is fitting. Look at his facial expression. How can one person’s entire demeanor be this simply uncomfortable?

I don’t know what he is doing laying in the street but I guess it’s a pretty good quality photo despite it not making any sense.

Okay honestly I was never curious as to why he didn’t try modeling, but now I know he definitely wouldn’t have made it in that career. He is so cramped in that pose. Was this his idea or someone else’s?

What is he looking at that justifies his expression?

Michael Cera is dressed as Paulie Bleeker from Juno, but it doesn’t distract from the fact that his running outfit accentuates his scrawniness. It’s gold, literally and figuratively.

The Michael Cera mustache and bucket hat combination is what gets me. He looks caught off gaurd but I’m pretty sure that’s just his face.

I have no words. I saved the best for last. The dog is licking Michael Cera and you can tell he’s thinking “but why is this dog licking my face” but he doesn’t stop the dog because he lowkey enjoys it.

Thank you for taking the time to also appreciate Mr. Cera’s awkwardness. I think about it often and I hope you do too. I apologize if this was a bit too far out of your comfort zone.
